Success Stories

I began using Tufoil in November, 1989, when my 4WD 1988 Jeep Cherokee with 6 cylinder engine and 5 speed transmission had about 40,000 miles. I bought this vehicle new; for several years it was my only vehicle which I used in my sales work so I drove 1,000 or so miles many weeks; I changed the oil and filter myself using Mobil 1 about every 10,000 miles plus adding the recommended 4 oz. Tufoil each time. Also, I changed the oil filter every 5,000 miles and topped up the oil. In 1996 at 300,000 miles, my technician recommended we replace the oil pan gasket due to leaking; with the oil pan off, he asked other technicians to look up at the underside of the engine and estimate mileage; they estimated 30,000 to 50,000 when it actually had 300,000. The head has never been removed; no internal engine work has been needed.

In 1999 I participated in my first Jeep Jamboree at Land Between the Lakes; I lost a rear bumper; soon I began a few off-road upgrades; later my son and daughter joined me on other Jamborees so we've had fun on a total of 6 so far including the 15th Ouachita in 2004 with my Mom who was 84; this unstoppable Jeep has provided lots of father/son and father/daughter quality time. And, yes, we let ourselves get talked into 3 "red neck mudslinging events" also. Well, I did wear out a pressure washer because I like a clean vehicle.

Ziebart provided rust protection soon after I bought my 1988 Jeep so it has little or no rust. Also, I had it totally repainted the original Colorado Red a few years ago; I say it looks great!

Then in 2001 my daughter decided she wanted to attend a school in Minneapolis, MN. She and her boyfriend found the biggest U-haul trailer in town; they packed it so heavy I used low-range to get out of our up-hill driveway and proceeded from Nashville, TN, to Minneapolis with my wife fearing we would breakdown any mile; the Jeep engine with Tufoil never missed a beat; we got there and returned home safely.

If you attended the Dream Cruise in Detroit during August, 2008, you likely saw my red Jeep with signs on the Yakima rack proclaiming, "600,000" miles. That was a bit of an exaggeration but I can now truly document over 600,000 miles; I even have three log books with record of every expenditure, etc.
